дéвушка – [ dévuchka ] – a grandfather

Can you imagine saying ‘you’re dating a grandpa’ instead of ‘a girlfriend’!

The research shows that the most hatred word in Russian family words list is:

племя́нник – [ plimyánik ] – a nephew

племя́нница – [ plimyánitsa ] – a niece

The most favourite word in the Russian language is: бáбушка – [ bábushka ] – a grandma. We also can call our grandmas’ as:

бабу́ся – [ babúsia ] – a granny

бу́ся – [ búsia ] – a gran
